Omaha beach in 3 hours (example visit)
The second landing area for American troops, Omaha's fine sand beach stretches over 7 km in a preserved natural environment. The visit allows you to combine a stroll through a remarkable landscape with the discovery of a historical place full of meaning.
After a stroll along the preserved part of the Normandy coastline, the tour route allows you to walk along the beach and understand, through immersion, the difficulty of the Landing and the climb to the plateau overlooking Omaha Beach. The climb to WN 62 where two casemates are still well preserved illustrates the construction of the Atlantic Wall. Several monuments allow you to evoke the lesser-known role of the health teams and the engineering troops before arriving at the top of the hill occupied by the memorial monument to the 1st American Infantry Division.
A short walk then takes you to the American cemetery for the second part of the visit, dedicated to the duty of remembrance through the evocation of some of the soldiers buried there.
